The Problem

Generic Scanners Miss
What Matters Most

Cheap OBD2 readers give you a cryptic code. Dealerships charge K3,000+ just to plug in. Neither gives you the full picture of your car's health.

Generic Code Readers

Only read ~10% of your car's systems. Miss manufacturer-specific codes entirely.

Dealership Diagnostics

Expensive, no printed report you can keep, and often pushy upsell on repairs.

"Wait Until It Breaks"

Ignoring early warnings can turn a $900 fix into a $3000 repair. Prevention is always cheaper.

FAQ

Common Questions

What's the difference between this and a £10 code reader from Amazon?
A generic reader can only access standard OBD2 emissions data (about 10% of your car's systems). Our factory-licensed tools access all 43+ control modules — including ABS, airbags, transmission, infotainment, ADAS, and manufacturer-specific codes. You get a full health report, not just one cryptic code.
Do you perform repairs as well?
No — and that's intentional. Because we don't sell repairs, our reports are completely unbiased. You can take the report to any garage (dealer, independent, or DIY) with full confidence in what actually needs fixing.
How long does the diagnostic take?
Typically 45–60 minutes for a full scan. Some complex vehicles (e.g., Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce) may take up to 90 minutes. You're welcome to wait in our lounge with complimentary coffee and Wi-Fi.
Can you clear fault codes?
Yes, we can clear non-critical codes (e.g., after a repair has been done). However, we won't clear codes that indicate active safety issues (airbag, ABS, steering) without the fix being performed — that would be irresponsible.
Is the report printed or digital?
Both. You receive a color-coded printed report on the spot, and we also email you a digital PDF version. The printed version is designed to be easy to read and hand to your mechanic.

Parts by Brand

VAG
Audi / Volkswagen
Good SA availability · Timing chains, turbo, injectors, mechatronic units

Best sources: Goldwagen SA, AutoZone SA, BM Parts for VAG-specific components. Timing chains, turbo actuators, fuel injectors, and mechatronic units are readily available through South African suppliers with 5–14 day delivery via DHL/FedEx.

Harder to find: DPF (diesel particulate filters) and catalytic converters often require ordering from Germany. Expect 10–30 day lead times and OEM pricing for these emission-critical components.

Local tip: Autozone Lusaka and MIDAS carry basic consumables (filters, brake pads, belts) for common models like the Golf 7 and A4 B8, but don't stock model-specific VAG parts. Always call ahead with your part number.

BMW
BMW
Good SA & Dubai availability · N-series timing chains widely available

Best sources: South Africa offers excellent coverage for N-series timing chain kits, oil filter housings, and suspension components. Dubai is a strong secondary source with competitive OEM pricing. BM Parts and Goldwagen SA are reliable go-to suppliers.

Harder to find: Mechatronic units for ZF 8-speed transmissions typically need to come from Germany. These are dealer-only parts and carry a significant price premium.

Common need: N47/N57 timing chain kits are one of the most frequently ordered BMW parts in Zambia. Keep a supplier relationship established before you need one urgently.

M-B
Mercedes-Benz
Good availability overall · SBC brake modules, Adblue/SCR parts

Best sources: Mercedes parts enjoy generally good availability through SA and Dubai channels. Adblue/SCR system components, air filters, and brake parts are readily sourced from South Africa.

Harder to find: SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) modules are typically Germany-only. These are critical safety components and should always be genuine OEM. W211 and W220 owners take note.

Tip: Mercedes part numbers are very specific — always use your VIN to get the exact part number. The same "part" can have multiple revisions, and using the wrong one can cause issues.

P
Porsche
Limited local options · Germany/Dubai primary sources

Best sources: Porsche parts are predominantly sourced from Germany (dealers, Porsche Classic) or Dubai (for OEM and high-quality aftermarket). Expect premium pricing across all sources.

Harder to find: PDK clutch packs and high-performance brake components are strictly dealer-only territory. These parts require proof of ownership/vehicle registration at some dealers.

Tip: Dubai has become a surprisingly good source for Porsche parts, often at better prices than Europe. Build relationships with reputable Dubai-based Porsche specialists. Budget extra time for authentication.

T
Toyota
Excellent local & Japan availability · Cheapest to source

Best sources: Toyota is the easiest and cheapest brand to source parts for in Zambia. Local shops in Lusaka carry most common parts (Hilux, Corolla, Land Cruiser). Japan offers OEM parts at competitive prices with 10–21 day shipping.

Availability: Nearly everything is available. Engine parts, suspension components, body panels, electrical components — the supply chain for Toyota is robust across all sourcing tiers.

Tip: For genuine Toyota parts at the best price, Japan is hard to beat. Use Amayama or Toyota Japan parts distributors. Local aftermarket options are also plentiful and generally reliable for non-critical components.

L
Lexus
Japan & SA · Most parts shared with Toyota

Best sources: Japan and South Africa. Many mechanical components are shared with Toyota equivalents, making sourcing significantly easier. Engines, transmissions, and suspension parts often cross-reference to Toyota part numbers.

Lexus-specific parts: Body panels, interior trim, and Lexus-specific electronics will need to come through Lexus channels (Japan primary). These carry the "Lexus tax" in pricing.

Tip: When ordering Lexus parts, ask if there's a Toyota equivalent. You can save 20–40% on mechanical parts by using the Toyota part number when applicable. Always verify compatibility first.

Pro Tips for Zambian Car Owners

Click to check off tips you've already covered

Cross-reference OEM part numbers before ordering from any source. Aftermarket part numbers differ — always match back to the OEM number to verify compatibility.
Have your VIN ready when ordering. Many parts are model/year/trim specific. Your VIN eliminates guesswork and prevents costly wrong-part orders.
Use the NHTSA recall check on our booking page to verify Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). Some "parts failures" are actually known issues with free fixes.
Ask your diagnostic report for exact part numbers needed. A proper OBD diagnostic should identify the specific component — don't guess.
Budget 15–20% extra for customs, duty, and courier fees on imported parts. ZRA charges can be unpredictable — always have a buffer.
Keep critical spares in your car: serpentine belt, spare fuses, coolant, and a litre of oil. Breakdowns in remote areas of Zambia can leave you stranded for hours.
Join WhatsApp groups for Zambian car enthusiasts. Community-sourced parts sharing, bulk ordering, and trusted supplier recommendations can save you significantly.

Hidden faults that go undetected at purchase can cost 10× more to fix afterward. Our inspection catches engine, transmission, and electrical issues the seller may not even know about — or won't mention.

02

Negotiate with Confidence

Our detailed, color-coded report gives you real leverage. Use documented findings to negotiate a fair price or request repairs before closing the deal. Knowledge is your best bargaining tool.

03

A vehicle is likely one of your largest purchases. An independent inspection means you know exactly what you're getting — no surprises, no regrets, and full peace of mind before you sign.

How It Works

Three simple steps. No complicated forms, no waiting around.

Pre-Purchase Inspection FAQ

A regular diagnostic focuses on reading fault codes and system data when you already own the car or have a specific concern. A pre-purchase inspection is a comprehensive physical and electronic assessment designed specifically for buyers — it includes the full diagnostic scan plus a visual inspection of the body, suspension, brakes, tires, fluids, test drive, and a written report you can use for negotiation.
Typically 60 to 90 minutes for a thorough inspection including the test drive. More complex vehicles or vehicles with many findings may take slightly longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.
Absolutely. In fact, we encourage it. A transparent inspection with the seller present builds trust and often leads to smoother negotiations. The report speaks for itself.
Yes — we can perform the inspection at the seller's location anywhere in Lusaka, or you can bring the vehicle to our workshop. A small call-out fee may apply for locations outside the city center.
You'll receive a color-coded digital report via WhatsApp and email. Green means good condition, yellow means attention needed, and red means a significant issue was found. It includes fault code details, paint thickness readings, fluid condition assessments, and clear recommendations.
Pricing depends on the vehicle type and inspection depth. Contact us on WhatsApp for a quick quote — it's a small investment compared to the potential cost of hidden problems. Most buyers say the inspection paid for itself many times over in negotiation leverage alone.
